This project proposes the rehabilitation of a dwelling in Sabugal, set within a context of strong vernacular identity, where stone construction takes the dominant role.
The scheme begins from one fundamental principle: to respect and make the most of the existing fabric, keeping the building authentic in its materials and its construction while introducing the conditions for contemporary living.
This is a deliberately delicate, conservative approach, in which the new settles subtly into the existing fabric, avoiding formal or stylistic breaks.
